H. H. TAMMEN and FRED HARVEY had trading posts from about the 1890s on up until about the 50s. FRED was earlier and later than TAMMEN too. The workers would get bonuses to steal the jewelry and the stamps from the competition by night. This went on forever, both ways, as a method of....what I have no idea. Stupidity? The logo for FRED HARVEY was not stolen. The cows too. For whatever reason, this is one sure way that experts can confirm real HARVEY pieces. Highly collectible, and a smart investment.
